THE NATURE PARK

With its area of over 620 km2 the Adamello Brenta Nature Park is the largest protected area in Trentino. It includes both the Adamello and Brenta Dolomites mountain ranges, divided by the Val Rendena, and extends across the Val di Non, di Sole and Giudicarie valleys. The Val di Non is part of the park area as it includes the beautiful Val di Tovel.

LAKE TOVEL AND ITS VALLEY

With its area of 17 km2 bounded by Monte Peller on the west and the massiccio della Campa peak on the east, the Val di Tovel is located in the northern part of the Brenta Group. At the centre of the valley, surrounded by rocky Alpine panoramas, stands Lake Tovel, a true natural jewel. Until the 1960’s the lake was also known as the “Red lake” due to a unique natural phenomenon that used to tinge red its waters.
