The Adamello Brenta natural park
THE NATURE PARK
With its area of over 620 km
2 the
Adamello Brenta Nature Park is the largest protected area in Trentino. It includes both the Adamello and Brenta
Dolomites mountain ranges, divided by the
Val Rendena, and extends across the
Val di Non, di
Sole and
Giudicarie valleys. The Val di Non is part of the
park area as it includes the beautiful
Val di Tovel.

LAKE TOVEL AND ITS VALLEY
With its area of 17 km
2 bounded by
Monte Peller on the west and the
massiccio della Campa peak on the east, the
Val di Tovel is located in the northern part of the
Brenta Group. At the centre of the valley, surrounded by
rocky Alpine panoramas, stands
Lake Tovel, a true natural jewel. Until the 1960’s the lake was also known as the “Red lake” due to a unique natural phenomenon that used to tinge red its waters.
